Nobody has ever been glad the hammer was in the boot.
Submersion and a post-crash fire give you seconds, not minutes, and a belt under load will not release on its own. An escape tool only counts if a belted driver can reach it without unfastening anything.
Works pinned
Spring-loaded - contact fires it, so no swing and no clearance needed
Belt first, then glass
The recessed blade pulls through webbing that has locked and will not unlatch
Lives on the keyring
40 g means it stays with you instead of migrating to the boot like every other one you have owned
Honest about glass
Tempered yes, laminated no - we tell you how to check instead of hoping you never find out
"Bought two - one for me, one for my son. Good quality."
"Very good product, it matches what was advertised. I tested it and it works, thank you."
"Good product, works very well, arrived on time and in good condition, thank you."

The tool in the boot is the tool you do not have.
- 1
Press, don't swing
A spring punch fires on contact, so it works with your arm pinned and nowhere to move it
- 2
A blade you cannot touch
The edge sits inside a hook - it finds webbing and misses your hand
- 3
40 grams
Light enough to stay on your keyring, which is the only place it is any use
- 4
Check your glass first
Tempered breaks, laminated does not, and the label in the window corner tells you which
One car is not every car. One for your keys, one for the other car.
The tool only helps the person holding it. The second one goes to whoever else drives, or to the car you lend out and never think about again.
Straight answers
It breaks tempered glass. Around one in three newer cars has laminated side glass, which no handheld escape tool reliably breaks. Look at the bottom corner of the side window - the label says which you have, and it can differ window to window on the same car.
It is spring-loaded. You press the head into the glass and the spring does the work, which is exactly why this type beats a hammer inside a car.
The edge is recessed inside a hooked channel. It reaches seat belt webbing and very little else.
