Product description

The Rust Conversion Kit is the one-rusty-thing version: a 300 g tub, a brush and a colour card, in eight colours. It reacts with surface rust and seals it under a water-based film, so a tow bar, a gate hinge or the metal band on a water barrel gets fixed in an afternoon without a trip to the hardware shop for a brush you'll use once.

Material & dimensions
Type: water-based rust-conversion metal paint.
In the box: 300 g tub, brush and colour card.
Colours: black, blue, grey, green, red, silver, white and yellow.
Surfaces: steel, iron, aluminium composite, timber and hard plastic.
Care instructions
Brush off the loose flakes and dirt first, and make sure the surface is dry and oil-free - smooth metal needs a light abrade or nothing keys to it. Stir well before use. Two thin coats beat one thick one, and leave the first coat to dry before the second. Rinse the brush under a tap while the paint is still wet; once it dries on the bristles it stays there. Store the tub cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.
Shipping & returns
Delivery takes 5-12 business days for this item - paint moves on a slower route than the rest of our range. You'll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships. Not satisfied? Contact us at info@autoboosty.com and we'll review your case as soon as possible!

Not a tin of paint. The whole job in one box.

The reason rusty things stay rusty isn't the paint - it's the four separate errands between noticing the rust and actually fixing it. Tub, brush and colour card arrive together, and the surface prep is a wire brush and five minutes.

🪣

One tub, one job

300 g does a tow bar, a gate hinge or a barrel band with two thin coats.

🖌

Brush in the box

Sized for the work, and it rinses out under a tap because the paint is water-based.

🎨

Colour card

Check the shade against the metal before you commit the tub.

🧪

Converts, then seals

The rust reacts and darkens, then the film locks the moisture out on top of it.

One box. 5 reasons it's the easiest way to start.

  • 1

    Brush included

A brush sized for the job, so you're not buying one for a twenty-minute repair and binning it after.

  • 2

    Colour card in the box

Check the shade against the metal before you commit the whole tub to it.

  • 3

    Converts the rust

Reacts with the surface rust instead of covering it. The treated area darkens, which is the reaction doing its job.

  • 4

    Water-based

Low odour in a closed garage, no solvent, and the brush rinses under a tap when you're finished.

Most rust repairs stall at the trip to the shop for a brush and the right tin. This is the whole job in one box, which is the difference between fixing it this weekend and looking at it for another year.

Paint, brush and a colour card.

Everything for one job in one box - and if you need more than 300 g, our full range goes to 1 kg. Shipping is free!

The questions everyone asks

"Is 300 g enough for my job?" USUALLY.

A tub this size covers a tow bar, a set of gate hinges, a barrel band or a couple of jack stands with two thin coats. If you're doing a whole trailer frame or a run of railings, take the 1 kg from our full range instead.

"Do I have to strip the rust off first?" NO, BUT.

You don't need to grind back to bare metal - that's what a converter is for. You do need to knock off loose flakes and get the surface dry and free of oil, and smooth metal needs a light abrade or nothing keys to it.

Customers said this rust conversion kit is a "super product" with repeat purchases. The kit includes a brush for converting and painting rusty metal surfaces like barrel bands. Overwhelmingly positive feedback with most shoppers rating it highly, though some detailed reviews are limited.
